    Electronic locking systems from Onity – designed for comfort

    Onity electronic locks are brilliantly designed and incredibly easy to use. They are built to serve properties of all sizes and enable hotel guests to enjoy a smooth and efficient check-in, helping your establishment set new standards in comfort and operational efficiency.

    An electronic lock grants authorized keycards access at specified times and dates and records all opening events. This reduces liability risks, enhances hotel security, and simplifies staff management.

    The Onity systems consist of:

    DirectKey™ Technology

    With built-in DirectKey mobile access technology, properties can implement a mobile key solution that’s customizable and easily integrates with brand loyalty apps or Onity’s DirectKey mobile app*. Through a secure mobile key on their smartphone, guests can enjoy a seamless journey throughout the hotel — unlocking their room without contact and with ease as they approach the door.

    *The DirectKey mobile app requires integration with your hotel property management system and the Onity OnPortal access management software.

    Easy installation and flexible management

    Onity locks are easy to install or replace and operate on batteries (expensive wiring is not required). Hotels can create their own reusable keycards, avoiding issues with locksmiths. Additionally, the Onity system features automatic re-coding: when a new guest checks in, the previous guest’s keycard is rendered invalid—as if “a new lock is installed for every guest”!

    Onity’s master keying software offers flexible management options: you determine who is authorized, when, and where. Employee keycards, electronically linked to the staff member’s name, can be restricted to specific shifts or days.

    Onity electronic locks also enhance hotel security: if a master keycard is lost, it can be electronically deactivated via the Onity software. Moreover, the technology provides multiple layers of encryption, ensuring maximum security and peace of mind for both you and your guests.

    What to consider when choosing a safe

    Consider what kind of items most often need to be secured – from personal effects, to laptop computers to larger items.

    The keypad and display on your safe should be large enough, ADA compliant, and visible inside cabinets or closets. The instructions must be simple, clear, visible and available in multi-languages. The safe should be easy to reach. RFID safes are also available for convenient use.

    For many safes on the market, changing the batteries is a difficult and time-consuming chore. Look for a safe that simply uses 4 standard AA batteries. Before you purchase, try replacing the batteries. Look at the number of screws that will have to be removed and replaced and look where they are located.
    Also make sure that the bolt mechanism and its electronic board are contained together in a single replaceable part. Ideally the bolt mechanism is fixed on the door rather than in the inside cover.

    Choose a safe with at least 2 solid steel anti-drill rotating bolts – one is not enough. Select a safe with recessed doors for insertion protection, anti-labyrinth mechanism, tamper-proof security screws and bolt-side reinforced mechanism.

    Your safe’s electronics should be reliable against up to a 500,000 volt surge attack.

    Select a safe with a Non-Resident master code contained in a portable programmer that is password protected with operators who are identified by name. Portable programmers should also be heavy duty, fall & shock resistant.

    To protect you from liability, your safe should offer a record of, at least, the last 100 operations. The audit trail should be easy to retrieve

    After several unsuccessful attempts, the safe should enable a shutdown mode for a period of time.
